Hockey Moms Know…..A Good Cause to Support!

Posted by: Sonja on: November 24, 2009

I read about this fundraiser today on the f word.  The f word  is an email fashion newsletter published by F-List. I subscribe to it.  I am assuming they won’t mind if I help spread the word about a fundraiser that helps fund hockey for those who could not otherwise afford to play.    Greenshag gives a puck and so should [...]

Worth the drive to the 905

Posted by: Sonja on: November 24, 2009

Last night my dinner was prepared by a personal chef.  My friends and I were able to relax and watch Chef Jonathan McDonough prepare our four course meal.  Chef Jono is his corporate identity.  We were among 24 people gathered at tables in the test kitchen at the Hamilton Spectator for the one of the GoCooking fall sessions. [...]

Just for Fun….Have you tried…?

SMILEBOX Smilebox is a fun program that allows total amateurs such as myself to put pictures and music together like this slide show below. You can also use it to make cards, invitations and scrapbooks.  Smilebox provides hundreds of templates – seasonal, special occasion, or plain. It’s free, unless you want more elements than provided.  Then [...]

My Social Bookmarking Project

Posted by: Sonja on: November 21, 2009

As a result of my Twitter experience with the TassimoCanada product give-a-way I decided to change the topic for my bookmarking project.  I was such a newbie!  The more I used Twitter, the more  annoyed I became by the promotion of product on the real-time site.  I came to realize that I was in the minority so I [...]

THE SAGA CONTINUES…. HOW MANY TWEETS WOULD YOU TWEET IF TWITTERING TWEETS WOULD GET YOU A COFFEE MACHINE? It seems my posts last week about the  Bosch/Kraft Tassimo promotion were actually read by some people.  Remember how I said that it seemed the online Twitter community was much like a real community and I felt left [...]

Words to Live By….

Posted by: Sonja on: November 13, 2009

“Brag was a good dog but he was still a dog! My father, John D. McLaughlin, would say this if he ever caught his children bragging or boasting. I try to remember these words as I muddle my way through life and yes, I’ve used them to cut my sons down a peg or two.  [...]

Toomuchimo Tassimo

Posted by: Sonja on: November 13, 2009

UPDATE: This morning I logged on to Twitter and discovered that the “mommy bloggers” were still promoting the Tassimo.  Smart Talk must have been quite an event.  They are still boasting, 6 days later, about making great beverages with this machine.  I’m all for reading product reviews but this has seemed like a daily assault.  This morning four of them [...]

I am such a lucky gardener.  I live within a ten minute drive of two Terra Greenhouse locations.  Right now they both have bargain clearout on some shrubs and trees.  The location on Dundas near Guelph Line has the best selection. (As of yesterday) Shrubs are $5.00 and a few shade trees at $55.00  Trees [...]

Worth the drive to the 905

Posted by: Sonja on: November 12, 2009

Yes, sometimes it is worth the drive to the 905 and… yes, sometimes I prefer to shop local. I have a personal policy.  If I get good customer service and feel welcome at a store then I will gladly shop there and not scour for bargains elsewhere.  If I get little or no service then I [...]
